DJ Red Alert & GIGI

Many of young hip-hop followers may not remember DJ Red Alert. If you’re gonna claim hip-hop as your music of choice then you should learn how we got to this point wit it. Red Alert was a spinner on popular stations like WBLS and Hot 97 out of NYC. Red Alert and I first connected at a WuTang party in Vegas. He offered me his chair and we talked about hip-hop for hours. “What’s a lady like you doing at a party like this?” he asked. That’s a question I got asked the first 15 years in hip-hop. I realize ladies these days like to be pampered. GiGi a friend of Red Alert’s, made a living out of painting the nails of ladies who require pampering. When Red Alert walked into a venue he usually got shout-outs from the stage. If you ever dreamed of having a beautiful lady at your side, think of Red Alert. His wife was naturally beautiful. A lady who doesn’t need a lot of pampering… Cheers to old school DJs…
